Quick Quests
Short tasks to keep each area of your life in harmony. Do not skip too many days in a row of the same instrument. Doing so can cause that instrument to play exceedingly loud demanding more of your attention than you can give.
Monday
Instrument: Business - Wrap up at least one outstanding project this weekend. Tie up the lose ends and get it off your plate.
Instrument: Community -Schedule a "date" with a friend.
Instrument: Family -Schedule a date night with your spouse. Make arrangements for someone else to take the kids for the evening or do an exchange with another mother. Then plan something enjoyable, even if it's just cooking dinner and cuddling up on the couch for a good movie.
Instrument: Home - This week we are focusing on the Dining Room/Front Entry/Hall. Let's be Trash Bugs today! Grab a trash bag and your trusty timer set for just 5 minutes per room/area. For that 5 minutes, collect all the trash you can see quickly.
Instrument: Self - Strengthen Your Willpower Muscle. Feel free to browse. Just looking at or shopping for things can help you obtain the same feelings as actually tasting or buying.
Tuesday
Instrument: Business - Change your passwords. Security is important for our business and personal accounts. This should be done regularly. Add this task to your Life System Organizer (LSO).
Instrument: Community -Welcome new neighbors or church members to the neighborhood. Stop by to say hello or bring a plate of desserts.
Instrument: Family -Return your library books. Overdue books can hit your credit and effect your credit score.
Instrument: Home - This week we are focusing on the Dining Room/Front Entry/Hall. Check your walls and light switches for finger prints and dirt spots. The front entry usually gets a lot of these as children and pets (and husbands) full of fun from the outside come running through.
Instrument: Self -Drink lots of water today. We tend to get even more dehydrated during the winter months because we don't want to drink cold water. Drink room temp water or add some lemon to it to improve the taste but be sure to drink plenty of it today and every day.
Wednesday
Instrument: Business -Schedule up to a month's worth of social media posts. Use a service like Hootesuite to schedule these out.
Instrument: Community -You may not be able to donate time or money to an organization or cause but you can help spread the word. Share a post for a worthy cause on Social Media.
Instrument: Family -Consider hosting a "Freezer Meal Party" and inviting your friends. This is a great way to have meals prepared in advance while spending some quality time with friends and family.
Instrument: Home - This week we are focusing on the Dining Room/Front Entry/Hall. Today we will focus on getting low. Give your baseboards a good dusting. Get a bristle brush to scrub off some of the deeper dirt that may have accumulated over a period of time.
Instrument: Self -Reboot. Take a moment to think about a habit you have recently slipped on. Then regain your focus and continue to move forward.
Thursday
Instrument: Business - Remember, selling isn't telling. Practice meeting with people and only asking them questions that will help you better understand if your product or service is a good fit for them. Do not offer to provide a solution. This is harder than it seems.
Instrument: Community - Celebrate teachers! Whether or not you have children in school, teachers have helped to shape the lives of our future generations. Be sure to do something nice for them.
Instrument: Family -Plan a family meal where everyone can contribute to the cooking in some way, even if it's just spreading butter on bread.
Instrument: Home - This week we are focusing on the Dining Room/Front Entry/Hall. Check your chairs and furniture in these rooms. Could they use a little extra cleaning and polishing? Be sure to get the entire piece and not just the surfaces.
Instrument: Self -Find one new food to try. Introduce it into you diet slowly. This could be a healthy vegetable like Kale or a new main dish.
Friday
Instrument: Business - Prioritize. Write down the top 5 projects that will move you closer to your overall goal. Write down which ones will take precedence over the others. Then write down the next step you must take for each of those projects.
Instrument: Community -What can you do today to help out a neighbor just because?
Instrument: Family -Share gratitudes with your family.
Instrument: Home - This week we are focusing on the Dining Room/Front Entry/Hall. Clean the wall hangings and pictures.
Instrument: Self - Choose a new ringtone. Pick a ringtone for your phone that is positive and upbeat. A song that reminds you to be happy or look on the bright side is a good option.
Saturday
Instrument: Business - Learn and remember names better. When you meet someone new, use their name at least 5 times during the conversation. This will help you to remember the names more easily next time you meet.
Instrument: Community -Smile and say hi to everyone you meet today.
Instrument: Family -Time to wash the cars! Get the family to all chip in and do this together.
Instrument: Home - This week we are focusing on the Dining Room/Front Entry/Hall. Window Time! Get out your microfiber clothes and do a quick clean on your windows. INSIDE only. This should just get the major marks and smudges gone until the spring hits and the weather is nice enough to do the inside and out.
Instrument: Self - Laugh. Watch funny videos or play with your kids for 15 minutes. Laughing builds our immune systems and increases our energy levels.
