Quick Quests

Short tasks to keep each area of your life in harmony. Do not skip too many days in a row of the same instrument. Doing so can cause that instrument to play exceedingly loud demanding more of your attention than you can give.

Monday

Instrument: Business -Review your goals for the year. Revamp if necessary.

Instrument: Community - Join a new group or club. This can be online or in person. Use a site like Meetup.com for in person clubs in your area.

Instrument: Family -When was the last time your pets had a bath? Do they go to the groomers regularly? Get that scheduled. While you are at it, clean out their food and water dishes.

Instrument: Home - This week we are focusing on the Living Room/Family Room. Let's be Trash Bugs today! Grab a trash bag and your trusty timer set for just 5 minutes per room/area. For that 5 minutes, collect all the trash you can see quickly.

Instrument: Self - Stop saying, "I can't afford to...". You can afford to do a lot more than you think. However, you CHOOSE to spend your money more wisely on things like food and mortgage/rent. Say instead, "I choose to allocate my funds in a different way at this time."

Tuesday

Instrument: Business -Call 5 past clients or prospects. Be sure to ask for referrals.

Instrument: Community - Prepare a meal for someone in need. Is there someone you know who is sick or laid up? Prepare or purchase a meal and take it to them.

Instrument: Family -Update your calendar with birthdays and consider purchasing cards in advance or using a system like Send Out Cards.

Instrument: Home - This week we are focusing on the Living Room/Family Room. Start at the top and dust all your light fixtures, ceiling fan and vents today.

Instrument: Self - Challenge yourself to find one positive twist in every challenging moment this week. Stuck in traffic? You might be avoiding a speeding ticket! It doesn't have to be true, it just has to make sense.

Wednesday

Instrument: Business - Use a site like Coursera.org or Udacity.com to take an online class for free that will boost your skills and marketability.

Instrument: Community - Get to know your neighbors. Wave hello to your neighbors, offer to mow their lawn, or offer to pick some things up for them the next time you go to the grocery store.

Instrument: Family -Visit an art museum with your children. Help them to explore the world around them. The Art of Elise Boysaw

Instrument: Home - This week we are focusing on the Living Room/Family Room. Today we will focus on getting low. Give your baseboards a good dusting. Get a bristle brush to scrub off some of the deeper dirt that may have accumulated over a period of time.

Instrument: Self -Get up 15 minutes earlier this week. What can you do with that extra time?

Thursday

Instrument: Business - Open a credit card in your business name to begin establishing credit specific for your business.

Instrument: Community - Follow up on your emails involving your community projects.

Instrument: Family - Have your family members set goals? If not, help them to each set a goal for themselves. This should be something meaningful to them and not something Mom or Dad wants for them. If so, take some time to help them review their progress and see where they might need help.

Instrument: Home - This week we are focusing on the Living Room/Family Room. Let's get out our vacuums and move some furniture around. Be sure to get under, around and IN the furniture!

Instrument: Self - Take 15 minutes today to declutter your purse. It might also be time to declutter the car.

Friday

Instrument: Business - Create a list of tasks that will take you less than 10 minutes each and have them handy for when you have five or 10 minutes before you have to leave or before a scheduled phone call.

Instrument: Community -Put together a free class program and host a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University or other enrichment programs in your area.

Instrument: Family - Read to or with your children as a family for 30 minutes. No electronics allowed.

Instrument: Home - This week we are focusing on the Living Room/Family Room. Window Time! Get out your microfiber clothes and do a quick clean on your windows. INSIDE only. This should just get the major marks and smudges gone until the spring hits and the weather is nice enough to do the inside and out.

Instrument: Self - Get recommendations from others  for a good book or magazine that will move you forward in life rather than just create a mindless vacuum. We'll talk about a few ideas on our Support Group.

Saturday

Instrument: Business - Take 15 minutes to clean out file drawer or online folder. We tend to start accumulating things in these places that we really don't need to keep after a while. What papers or files can be tossed or deleted? Don't worry about completing the task, just do it for 15 minutes.

Instrument: Community - Make your neighborhood a little more attractive. Pick up 10 pieces of trash on your walk. Bring the kids and a trash bag and make it a family activity.

Instrument: Family - Plan at least 2 hours of outdoor physical activity with the family this weekend. Combine this with your Community task and get two for one!

Instrument: Home - This week we are focusing on the Living Room/Family Room. Check your walls and light switches for finger prints and dirt spots.

Instrument: Self - Strengthen your willpower muscle. Notice when you "reward" yourself for doing good by doing bad. This does not move you forward towards your goal. Aim to reduce the times you do this.
