How to Store Purses Without the Stuffing Mess

Does this look familiar?

I don’t own A LOT of purses but I do have a handful that I really love and want to keep them in good shape. When you buy a purse, it comes stuffed with all kinds of paper and junk. That’s to help keep the shape of the purse during shipping and storage. I used to throw all that stuff away upon purchase (I even had the clerk toss it so I didn’t have to worry about it. Then I started keeping it, figuring if it was good for storage during shipping, it was probably a good idea to keep in the purse when it wasn’t in use.

But then I ran into this problem. In my normal chaotic rush to switch purses, I’d rip out all the paper and toss it on the floor of my closet where it would remain because I didn’t have the energy to put it back in the purse. Then I came up with a great solution!

My first idea came from an Amazon.com order I received.

Air Pillows
Air Pillows

These work GREAT! (And work to keep boots straight as well). All you need to do is tear off enough pillows to fit your shape and size purse and stuff them in there.  Unfortunately, too much handling and time will cause them to lose their air. You will either need to replace them periodically or use my second solution.

Ziplock bags

For this idea, you can use a variety of Ziploc storage bags depending on the size of your purse. Select one that closely matches. You may need two depending on the shape of the purse. Stuff with excess paper.

Stuffed!

Then just place the bags inside your purse for storage.

Ready for storage.

The next time you take the purse out, there is just one or two things to remove and replace rather than a whole messy pile!

Bonus tip! Use pants hangers to hang lightweight bags.

Nifty idea.
